Alright, one month ends another begins and with each new month a new Challenge begins. Last time we did a Waterfront Theme, this time I’m stepping it up a notch, this one may be a brain teaser for a few of you out there..

For the Second Monthly Mapper Challenge we are reverting back to one.. What does that mean? I’ll tell you, this months theme is One Grid Square Wonders.

Thats right, your map can be no bigger then One Grid Square. This does not mean it has to be a tiny map, I mean you can always build up!
But! Your map if moved must fit within One grid square, you can build it in four (as to not limit your budget.) But if I move your map once finished into one grid square it should fit neatly, a little overlapping is ok. But not anything Major!

There you go, that’s our theme One Grid Square Wonders. I’m really looking forward to what you all create!

EDIT: I have been getting quite a few messages about a few specifics of this Challenge. Mainly on whether detailing is allowed outside of the grid square. The answer in short is Yes!
All of the gameplay elements must take place inside the
One GridSquare, but any aesthetic detail can be placed outside the singlular grid square. I mean, we don’t want your maps to look like piles of poo.. or do we? ha ha
Also, you are allowed to mark off where the size of the one grid, and then move the map into the center of four other grids. So your map budget isn’t as limited (One grid square can only handle 10,000 brushes)

Hmm, good one. Still plenty of scope, an exercise in economy – can always go up and/or down, urban yup, I think urban, or termite. Or maybe keep it on the level? The possibilities of the grid square sized map are immense, wow!

    yay!

may I enter an existing map? :-D
had budget problems with the waterfront one, otherwise I may have released a beta.

  • The Govener

    No, no existing maps. lol

The whole point of the MMC, is to create a new map in a months time-frame that fits to a certain theme. It kinda defeats the purpose if you enter an existing map.

I mean, that is half the challenge you know? You need to come up with a idea and execute it within a months time-frame. . :D

can i attempt to enter two maps?

  • Surfdog Jr

I would think entering two maps would be okay… It’s not like a prize is at stake, and the whole point of the challenge is to circulate new maps into the community.

@Dylan Cook, this server only supports the 360 side of the game lol So yes, you can use your 360 @.@

    I haven’t started yet.

but I have an almost finished grid map. I think the biggest thing there is still to build is a fire truck.

  • The Govener

Yeah, I combined most of your comments together.. try to keep the triple posting to a minimum. lol
