Well guys, I gotta say it. Great match last week. This week, lets continue that trend! Along with continuing the trend of having a good time, I want to continue trying to have one map submissions. I feel it gives the server a more.. uh intimate feel. It doesn’t feel rushed, a more relaxed pace. While still keeping things chaotic.

So basically, one submission. Or at least try to limit it to one. If you do submit two maps, Please put the map you want us to play the most first. So map you want played first.. first, map you still want played second.. second.  So I tried to make a simple system, lets see how it works.

So now lets get down to why you’re most likely here.. The submision guidelines are still the same as ever, and I’ll say them again just because I can ;D

Copy and Paste the form below, make sure to fill out all of it. Otherwise we will not host your map. Period. This makes it easy for us and not too difficult for you… hopefully.

Author:
Map Name:
Preferred Mode:
Map Size:

So again, Copy and Paste the form. Otherwise, no Soup for you.
Also, the server starts at 8:00 PM Est.
I’m also going to tell you now, please have your map on the servers by 7:30 PM Est. Thats when I begin downloading the maps for the server.  Along with when I begin downloading the maps, 7:30 is also the end for submissions. Any map submitted after 7:30 PM Est on Wednesday is not a valid submission, unless I’m feeling nice ;D

Might as well give this another go. Everyone enjoyed Team Deathmatch last week. Lets do it again, right?

  • IcedFire

It’s been a while since they let me come out to play…..

    Author: Iced Fire89
    Map Name: Cops N Robbers
    Preferred Mode: CTD/Uprising
    Map Size: Large (12-16)
Description: Once this land was a tribal area, as can be seen by the still worn pathways. Later it was colonialized by a government who’s still trying to keep control. The area had begun to be industrialized when a Typhoon came. Now one can find a couple renevated government buildings, an abandoned warehouse in the industrial expansion, destruction, and a population intent on reconnecting with nature.

I normally wouldn’t submit the same map so frequetly, but you know… lol

Ok, lets try out those giant mining machines again, this time with a wrecked one in the middle and on Uprising.

I encourage everyone that submits a map to join out of common courtesy. Soup IS hosting your map by their/our own free will, were not a big truck. You can’t just keep dumping stuff on us… WERE A SERIES OF TUBES!

  • kernalEugEnE

well, lets fill those tubes, shall we?

you are trapped. you were mining when the exits all coincidentally collapsed at the same time…2 weeks later, and you’re still trapped. food has run out, the power is gone, anarchy has erupted.people are popping out of the corners to kill(somehow everyone has guns and lots of ammo tho…). now the gas is leaking out of the walls, and people are being obliterated in as ball of fire by a misfired bullet.(there are propane tanks in the walls).
    this should be hectic

  • IcedFire

After talking to Gov, we’re going to forget that Cops N Robbers even exists…. Instead:

    Author: Iced Fire89
    Map Name: Mountain Men
    Preferred Mode: CTD/Uprising
    Map Size: Medium
Description: Thank Gov for telling me the cabins look good because I thought they were crappy.

    Map Size: Meidum – Large

I’d prefer we play Do NOT Be a Square.

  • MOSLOV

    Author: MOSLOV

    Map Name: MELTDOWN beta
Preferred Mode: please play all modes. CTD is ASSAULT MODE
    Map Size:Medium. 8 -12 players

MELTDOWN takes place at a Nuclear power facility. It is multi-level with interior and exterior battlegrounds. There are many explosive areas wihin this map and plenty of cover and mounted weapons.
Sneak into the bases using the underground access tunnels or just run through the many entrances with guns blazing.
    The choice is yours.

  • i mzeeEVIL 1

BTW I will be at work until 10pmEST and I may not be able to get on before 11pm. If you see me on please send an invite. Thanks.

  • Surfdog Jr

How can something be carved out by a waterfall if it is dry? :P

Wow! I actually sent it to the server this time. Thanks for hosting and giving us a home for our art. Most of the maps we play on FCSoup would be good on FC3.

  • kernalEugEnE

*coughcoughscavengerIVcough* what? who said scavenger IV was remotely good enough to be on farcry 3? jk gov, its an amazing map….actually…
this one i also want played(second priority on my list…)(and i’m prolle speaking for the rest of the people here…)(and i think i’m done with the brackets now…)

    map:Scavenger IV
    author:The Govenor
    preferred mode:…..surprise us
size: about that big, give or take X amount

(i think that might be an invalid submission…=S)(and apparently i wasn’t done with brackets)

  • o0Fauch0oo

Objectively, I would say scavenger IV is a “different” map
it looks good, really atmospheric. the gameplay is a bit hard to judge in one game, at the 1st glance it looks like it is going to be really imbalanced, but really, I can’t say, gov probably knew what he was doing but mistakes are possible.

  • The Govener

Thanks Kernal, let me make it official.
    Author: The Govener
    Map Name: Scavenger IV

    Map Size: Ehh, bigish
    —————-
    Author: Surfdog Sr
    Map Name: Tierras Altas BETA
    Preferred Mode: CTD
    Map Size: Large
This is a Beta version of Surfdogs new map, the name is not chosen by him, but its a cool beta name. This is a strict beta test to see how the map plays before the overall detail level is set. So lets give it a good play, and base our thoughts toward gameplay not so much aesthetics.

  • Vaskadar

    Author: A Whiffleball
Map Name: Serpent Cove (final version, no beta surname)
Preferred Mode: TDM or Uprising (gawd, we’ve been getting a lot of that)
    Map Size: Medium-small

Description: There’s a snake in the water.

  • The Govener

map submissions are closed, anything after this post will not be played this week.

  • i mzeeEVIL 1

Thanks for hosring my map last night. Sorry I didn’t make it to the game but I was working late.
    Hope the map played alright.

  • The Govener

Yeah, sorry we never got around to your map. I wanted to host it as late as possible (so you could join) but then the game died out around 10:00. It was only 4v4. But, we will probably have a surprise server later on this week, maybe Friday, today or Saturday. So if I see you online then, I’ll toss you a invite.

  • o0Fauch0oo

I’m quite surprised of how well I played yesterday, I hadn’t played at all since you hosted “xtremination of ctd” so I expected to get owned, especially since I wasn’t really in the mood of playing when I started.

I expected the server to last longer, I think there was still enough players. Did I miss the match on my map or you didn’t host it?

I was quite annoyed that one map got played that long, not that I didn’t like it, but I was curious to see the other maps and I don’t want to stay for too long since it’s already late in the night for me when the server starts.

  • The Govener

Yeah, we played your map first. Mainly because your maps are generally smaller in size and better with a smaller group. It was a lot of fun, people had a good time.

Yeah, it was a fun match on Surfdog’s map. But sometimes enough is enough, a good map can only be played for so long before you become tired of it. Along with how, the score didn’t change or get close to changing for a long time..

  • o0Fauch0oo

ah damn :-D I think you usually start the server around 2AM. it was maybe 2:10 when I got on xbox live so I guess I was a few minutes late.

did the players spread all around the maps, or did they stay inside the tower? the ledges all around the map are supposed to give a chance to snipers. but players may not think of blowing up the windows to get outside.

I was quite surprised when playing cidade de deus, how easily we got beaten, there was that guy camping with a M249 protecting his base and it looked like no one could defeat him, could it be a flaw in the design of the map?

  • The Govener

I think our team has a similar advantage, we had a few places to camp/hide but at that point in the match I was pretty worn out. I wasn’t actually playing that much <.<

I saw at least on person out on the ledge, he had a shotgun. He died shortly after that. For the most part is was a up-down fight. It was fun.

  • IcedFire

Fauch, have you guys started daylight savings time? if not then the time difference might have caught you.

  • o0Fauch0oo

I don’t think so, they would have talked about it at the tv.

well, the ledges were also designed with cover for shotgun users for example. I hesitated about putting team spawnpoints on them. actually at the start I wasn’t going to put any spawnpoints there because making someone spawn right near a gap is usually not the best idea. it was more supposed to not be too frequented so that you could snipe or go from one base to the other one without encountering too much resistance. in another hand, in the heat of the action, there is a risk of falling off the ledge.

  • o0Fauch0oo

oh yeah, there was also the decision to put the ammo boxes on the ledges, right in front of windows, so that you can blow them up to destroy the windows or to prevent players to jump on the ledges.
in another hand, I wanted ammo boxes to be easy to reach, but I didn’t want too many of them in the tower as it could have been too hellish.
anyway, that’s most likely the kind of maps where you die before running out of ammo?

  • kernalEugEnE

your map was the kind where you die before running out of ammo, yes
i had a positive K-D ratio, and i don’t think my average lifespan was more than 30 seconds….not enough time to run out of ammo
gov might of run out of ammo, but thats ok….then someone MIGHT kill him =P lol

  • o0Fauch0oo

it was already hard to not get killed by bots on this map on timesplitters. the original version only had the tower, not the ledges around it.
